Introduced in 2015, India’s SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision, represents a significant shift in India’s maritime strategy and its approach to regional security in the Indian Ocean Region. It marks a landmark change in India’s foreign policy as India moves away from its earlier reticent approach on the front of maritime security. This paper aims to study the relevance of SAGAR in achieving India’s bluewater ambitions.
